General functions:

1. Formulate, develop, execute, monitor and evaluate the productive development policy and commercial of the Municipality of Santiago de Cali in accordance with the Municipal Development Plan, the territorial arrangement plan and other guidelines related to the sector.
2. Facilitate spaces for participation, agreement and coordination with stakeholders in the tourism sector and related sectors.
3. Articulate with the competent organizations the strategies and mechanisms that create a favorable environment and conditions for the realization and strengthening of business in the tourism sector.
4. Promote and articulate the different types of tourism that are strategic for the economic development of the municipality of Santiago de Cali.
5. Lead and manage the promotion strategies of the different touristic modalities and products for the socioeconomic development of the Municipality of Santiago de Cali.
6. Formulate and manage projects for the different touristic modalities of the Municipality of Santiago de Cali.
7. Promote compliance with technical quality standards, good practices, formalization of tourism service operators and the training of human resourse in the sector with actors support  and authorities inherent to this function.
8. Leading strategies for the development, strengthening and innovation of the portfolio of tourism products, in conjunction with the actors of the sector, with a focus on population and territorial inclusion.
9. Support the promotion and marketing strategies of the Municipality from its competence.
10. Carry out studies, analyze, monitor and update the quantitative and qualitative information of the tourism sector of the Municipality.
11. Develop the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of programs, projects and strategies for the development of the different activities of the night, in coordination with the actors, entities and organizations related to the subject.
12. Strengthen the conditions for the development of good practices in the offer of night products and services of the Municipality, with intersectoral and inter-institutional actions.
13. Support tourism initiatives from the community that are viable and are framed in the sector's policy and the Municipality's Development Plan.
14. Develop spaces for intersectoral and inter-institutional coordination on issues inherent to the competence of the Secretariat.
15. Articulate, together with the competent organizations, the planning, execution and monitoring of territory interventions.
16. Develop the other functions and businesses that are assigned according to its competence.
