Tourism Office Funtions

Purpose, The Secretary of Tourism is in charge of leading the planning and management of policies, plans, programs, projects and strategies for the Productive and Commercial Development of Tourism, promoting the articulated and innovative development of different tourism modalities and products. In association with the different actors of the Tourism Chain and other strategic sectors to encourage the generation of income, employment and entrepreneurship with a territorial, population and environmental sustainability approach.
General functions:
1. Formulate, develop, execute, monitor and evaluate the policy for the productive and commercial development of tourism in the Special, Sports, Cultural, Tourist, Business and Services District of Santiago de Cali in accordance with the Municipal Development Plan, the Plan Territorial Planning and other guidelines related to the sector.
2. Facilitate spaces for participation, agreement and coordination with the actors of the tourism sector and related sectors.
3. Articulate with the competent agencies the strategies and mechanisms that generate an environment and favorable conditions for the realization and strengthening of businesses in the tourism sector.
4. Promote and articulate the different types of tourism that are strategic for the economic development of the municipality of Santiago de Cali.
5. Lead and manage the promotion strategies of the different tourist modalities and products for the socioeconomic development of the Municipality of Santiago de Cali.
6. Formulate and manage projects for the different tourist modalities of the Municipality of Santiago de Cali.
7. Promote compliance with technical quality standards, good practices, formalization of tourism service operators and the training of human talent in the sector with the support of the actors and authorities inherent in this function.
8. Lead strategies for the development, strengthening and innovation of the portfolio of tourism products, together with the actors of the sector, with a focus on population and territorial inclusion.
9. Support the promotion and marketing strategies of the Municipality from its competence.
10. Carry out studies, analyze, monitor and update the quantitative and qualitative information of the tourism sector of the Municipality.
11. Develop the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of programs, projects and strategies for the development of the different activities of the night, in coordination with the actors, entities and organizations related to the subject.
12. Strengthen the conditions for the development of good practices in the offer of products and nocturnal services of the Municipality, with intersectoral and interinstitutional actions.
13. Support tourism initiatives from the community that are viable and are framed in the policy of the sector and the Development Plan of the Municipality.
14. Develop spaces for intersectoral and interinstitutional coordination on issues inherent to the competence of the Secretariat.
15. Articulate, together with the competent agencies, the planning, execution and monitoring of interventions in the territory.
16. Develop other functions and businesses that are assigned in accordance with their competence.
