Geographic Location

The city of Cali sits at an average altitude of 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) above sea level. This elevation contributes to its warm and pleasant climate year-round.

Climate and Temperature

Cali enjoys a tropical savanna climate, with temperatures ranging between 18°C and 34°C (64°F to 93°F). The city has two rainy seasons: from March to May and from October to November. The driest months are typically from December to February and from June to September.

It is advisable to bring light clothing, sunscreen, and—during the rainy season—an umbrella or raincoat.

Wildlife and Plant Life

Cali is a vast mosaic of ecosystems, ranging from lush tropical rainforests to mystical páramos. The Farallones de Cali National Natural Park, spanning 196,429.90 hectares, is a sanctuary of biodiversity, home to a thousand species of trees, orchids, and bromeliads, as well as spectacled bears, jaguars, and ocelots.
