Cali to bring its health tourism initiative to the national agenda and promote the second international gathering

• Cali’s Secretary of Tourism, María Fernanda Campuzano, will participate in the launch of the National Roundtable on Health, Longevity, and Wellness Tourism in Bogotá, convened by the Vice-Ministry of Tourism.
• From this platform, the city will invite the national ecosystem to participate in the Second International Health Tourism Gathering, to be held on November 18 in Cali.

Santiago de Cali, September 30, 2026. Cali continues to strengthen its commitment to medical tourism as a strategic segment for the destination's competitiveness and international profile. This Thursday, October 1, the Secretary of Tourism, María Fernanda Campuzano, will participate in Bogotá in the inaugural session of Colombia’s National Roundtable on Medical, Longevity, and Wellness Tourism, convened by the Vice-Ministry of Tourism and the Colombian Society of Medical and Wellness Tourism.

This collaborative platform between the public and private sectors aims to establish a joint roadmap for the development of medical tourism in Colombia, strengthen its governance, and promote the country’s positioning as an international destination for specialized medical, longevity, and wellness services.

Cali’s participation in this national agenda will also serve as an opportunity to promote the Second International Medical Tourism Gathering, scheduled for November 18 at the Hotel Dann in the capital of the Valle del Cauca region.

“From Cali, we recognize that medical tourism offers an opportunity to connect our medical, scientific, and specialized service capabilities with both domestic and international markets. Therefore, we will take advantage of this event organized by the Vice Ministry of Tourism to invite the national ecosystem to our Second International Gathering a platform for forging partnerships, sharing experiences, and continuing to position Cali as a leading medical tourism destination in the region,” stated María Fernanda Campuzano, Cali’s Secretary of Tourism.

Cali Convenes the National and International Ecosystem

The Second International Health Tourism Gathering will bring together clinics, healthcare providers, business leaders, and key national and international stakeholders. The event aims to strengthen business connections, foster knowledge exchange, and showcase the destination's capabilities.

This initiative is part of the Cali Mayor's Office strategy led by Mayor Alejandro Eder to diversify tourism offerings, bolster specialized sectors, and promote the city in international markets.

Through this participation in Bogotá and the upcoming international gathering, Cali advances its goal of establishing a cooperation and coordination agenda that links the healthcare sector with the tourism industry, creates new business opportunities, and strengthens the city's positioning under the brand "Cali is where you need to be."
